PAINTINGS FROM SLIDES AND PHOTOS
These paintings are sourced from old family photographs or slides, many of them faded or with colour distortions, each of them re-photographed before painting so that there is an added layer of distance between the source and the painting. The ‘touch’ and gesture of the brushstrokes, and the lifted out ‘trace’ areas reference both the warmth and the gaps in memories and imagination.
